Honestly could not knock my experience. Flying solo I was very nervous. I had Nesrine guide me through it all who is an amazing coordinator. I got to the hospital and again was very nervous but was soon reassured. I then got settled in a lovely hospital room. I had bloods taken, chest x-ray and an ultrasound scan on tummy. So glad to say a success. I was up walking a few hours after. Day 2 is probably the worst but once you get through it your on cloud 9. I met with my dietician and given all my protein shales and vitamins. Then got discharged day 3 post op. I got transferred to a beautiful hotel where I am relaxed and it’s beautiful. A hair transplant is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which healthy hair follicles are taken from a donor area (usually the back or sides of the scalp) and transplanted into areas experiencing thinning or baldness. There are two main modern techniques used at Academy Health:
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction): Hair follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area and implanted into the recipient site. This method leaves minimal scarring and ensures fast healing.
DHI (Direct Hair Implantation): A specialized Choi Pen is used to implant follicles directly into the scalp without prior incisions. This technique allows for greater precision and higher density.
Both methods are performed under local anesthesia and take 6–8 hours on average, depending on the number of grafts.
Most patients return to normal daily activities within 2–3 days. Mild redness, swelling, or scabbing may occur, but these side effects disappear within 1–2 weeks.
